Rendell proposes $50 million education subsidy cut Pittsburgh Tribune-Review
Gov. Ed Rendell has outlined a plan to balance this year's budget by making cuts that include a $50 million reduction from what he originally proposed for education, in order to fill a $282 million gap in the state's budget created by decreased federal Medicaid funding.

Secretary of Banking Steve Kaplan congratulated Pennsylvania high school students who were recently awarded college scholarships by the Charles Schwab Foundation in recognition of their achievements in the National Financial Capability Challenge, an annual online competition sponsored by the U.S. departments of Education and Treasury.
