After two weeks on job, district official resigns The Philadelphia Inquirer

With reasons remaining unclear, Lisa Mastoon has resigned from her position as the Philadelphia School District's chief communications officer after half a month on the job.

 

Pittsburgh schools just miss federal progress standard Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Pittsburgh Public Schools failed to meet the standard of 'adequate yearly progress' in the 2009-2010 year. In reporting these results, Superintendent Mark Roosevelt has expressed reform plans to focus on grades 9-12, which showed little improvement in achievement test results.

 

Wilson West staffed, ready to open Reading Eagle

The Wilson School District has confirmed that its new school, Wilson West, will open on time for the new school year with all positions filled.
