Other FAQ

  • I’m an individual advocate, not a group. Can I still join SchoolVictories.org?

Sure. Here’s one thing to keep in mind: The purpose of the site is to strengthen the efforts of advocates working to improve local, state, and federal education policies and practices. Individuals may join and use their own name and information as the group description. We encourage individuals, though, to connect with others who are working on similar issues and perhaps form a group. The most powerful change often happens when people work together, even if their group is informal.

  • Does my group have to be a non-profit organization?

No. Groups do not have to be officially registered as non-profit organizations.

  • What about for-profit organizations?

The purpose of the site is to strengthen the efforts of advocates working to improve local, state, and federal education policies and practices. If a for-profit organization is working on those same improvements, it is welcome on the site.

  • Can a school district be on SchoolVictories.org?

Yes. We encourage school districts to join and create Activities on the site.

  • I want to contact another group on the site. How do I do that?

Go to its group page and look for the appropriate e-mail address and/or phone number.

  • I’ve found a great report on an issue my group is working on. How can I share that with others?

First, be sure to add it to one of the group’s existing Activities. Maybe the group has already started a Research Activity on the topic. If there isn't an existing Activity, create one for the report. Once the report is part of an Activity, anyone searching the site for that issue will find the report. Second, tell us about it. We can post it in the Morning Announcements blog.

  • I want to comment on another group's Activity. Can I do that?

Not on the site. The best way to contact a group about its work is to call or e-mail using the information provided on the group's page.
